Hotels in Fife

Kingdom of Fife

The "Kingdom of Fife" lies on the east coast of Scotland, just north of Edinburgh. The county looks on the map like a Labrador dog's head. In the south it had previously been heavily industrialised with many coal mines and factories. Unfortunately, for the local employment situation much of the heavy industry has now disappeared. St Andrews (The home of Golf) lies in the north east corner of the county along with the many small fishing villages of the East Neuk. A great way to see the coast is to walk or cycle the Fife Coastal Path.

Travel

Transport is not a problem to this part of the country. With the railway line north from Edinburgh going along the Fife coast to Kirkcaldy from here the line goes further inland towards Cupar and north to Dundee. If you want to explore Fife I would advise that you hire a vehicle if you want to truly explore the area. It takes less than an hour to drive to most locations in Fife from Edinburgh Airport.

Hotels in St Andrews

The most popular luxury hotels in St Andrews are the Old Course Hotel and the Fairmont Hotel. The Old Course Hotel is located overlooking the Old Course golf course and it has some best luxury hotel facilities. Including Spa facilities and a fine dining restaurant all luxury rooms offer panoramic views of the golf course. It also commands a central location within the town being only a ¼ of an hour walk from the other local attractions in St Andrews.

The Fairmont St Andrews

The Fairmont is situated on nearer the edge of town and overlooks St Andrews Bay. It has two full championship golf courses within its grounds and also features facilities to rival The Old Course Hotel. The accommodation in both locations has exemplary standards of service, as you would expect to receive from a five star resort.

Dean Park Hotel in Kirkcaldy
Chapel Level, Kirkcaldy KY2 6QW, Scotland

Situated away from the centre of Kirkcaldy and snuggled away in a residential area, but with easy access onto the A92. The accommodation is spacious especially in terms of the single rooms. The reception staff are extremely helpful and pleasant but clearly understaffed. The restaurant service did not drop due to this and the effort the showed me addressing my concerns as a vegetarian was great and attentive. They really did their very best to provide some delicious food.

Locally, the hotel is renowned for weddings. Making the most important day of your life as special as possible is the hotel's only objective.

All 34 rooms are furnished to the level that you would expect of a hotel of this standard. Please see individual room details for a complete list of facilities on offer.

The Kingdom of Fife, as it is known, is one of the most stunning areas within Scotland. Kirkcaldy is a great central location for touring St Andrews and the Fife coastline, or for a visit to Edinburgh. For those wishing to stay closer to home, the town itself has a great selection of shops and eateries to explore.

BurntIsland Hotels

Kingswood Hotel ***

This grand, independently owned, country hotel, is located within more than 2 acres of gardens and woodlands, boasting stunning panoramic views across the Firth of Forth and houses one of the local area's best restaurants. The hotel is an ideal hub for touring some of Scotland's leading landmarks, wonderful coastline beaches and top class golf courses. After a busy day exploring you can enjoy freshly prepared, homemade dishes in the hotel's restaurant. The head chef and his team are accommodating should you require a more tailored menu (with notice) and have earned and excellent reputation.

Just trying to get the word out about visits to my local area which seems to forgotten about.
